Definition of Radon:
An odorless gas that may cause cancer and is present in one in fifteen homes in the US. More common in older homes, radon can still be present in new construction if radon-resistant features were not installed (click here to go to the government’s Radon Learning Center) weren't installed. If the level of radon in a home is above a certain amount, there are ways to reduce the level of gas. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that sellers get their home tested before putting it on the market, and buyers should always get the home they're looking to buy tested for radon.
