In the 1970’s, the Mission Viejo company bought the remaining acreage for the purpose of creating the new planned community now known as Aliso Viejo which was projected to a completion to include over 19,000 homes with a future estimated population of over 49,000. Most people are unaware of that Aliso Viejo has it own professional sports team – the Orange County Gladiators (part of the ABA).
